Chapter 1: Invitation (Part 2) 

He walked towards the phone that located near him. He wondered who was calling at him time like this. It could be Ran, his childhood friends, Sonoko, one of few closest friend his have, Heiji his best friend and his rival or his parents Yusaku and Yukiko.

  

“Hello. This is Shinichi? Who’s there?” Shinichi answered the phone.

“Hello Shinichi.” Ran voice could be heard.

“Ohh….Ran. It’s rare for you to calling me at his hour. What do you want?”

“What? Am I disturbing you?” She pouted even though she was on the phone.

“No. no. Ran. I’m glad you’re calling me. I don’t have anything to do right now.”

Shinichi was just reading some books for a few hours. He doesn’t have anything to do. That was why he was a bit happy when Ran called him. They talked for a few minutes. Then, Ran suddenly asked something.

“Oh…is that so? Nee.. Shinichi are you free this weekend?” She talked unusually with a low voice.

“Yes?”

“I say. Are you free on this weekend?” She asked him again but with much louder voice so he could heard it.

It seems that Ran was a bit embarrassed to him. Her voice was not consistent. Sometimes it was lower and sometimes it was louder. Shinichi noticed this. It was one of the skills that detective must have. Detective must study various detail including people behavior and their metal state. It was crucial to find culprit in every crime. This skill was effective at time like this but he choosed to ignore.

“Well, I’m kind of free this weekend. I don’t have any plan on this weekend.” He said while he scratched his chin and form a smile.

“Ok. Do you want to go for a camping? I’m and Sonoko will join it.”

“That sound nice but we will have exam after that aren’t we?”

“W-well…” she stuttered.

“We will have to study hard in this week.” She said.

Shinichi sighed.

“Yeah. I’ll go. It’s been a while since I went anywhere. It’s is good time for me to rest.”

“Right. You always went to crime scene. To make things bad you always attract it.” She said happily.

“I’m sorry.” He felt irritated with the fact that Ran talked about. It was the truth. Whenever he goes the probability for case to happened was high. The reason why that happened was unknown till now.

“Hahahaha….” Then both of them laugh.

“Okay. That’s all I want to talk. Good night, Shinichi.”

“Okay. Good night.”

He ended the call. As soon as he ended the call someone rang the bell. 

"This is weird. Who's come to my house at this hour?"
