Kazuha's POV
"I feel so nervous" I told the girls softly while Sonoko san's driver drove us to Osaka.
"Don't worry Kazuha! We have Ran by our side in case bad guys showed up!"
Sonoko- san cheerfully said all while patting Ran-chan's shoulder.
"Geez, Sonoko"
I pulled out my charm that I kept with my phone. I clutched it tightly hoping this bad feeling Would go aWay.
What if, Heiji really has a girlfriend? That's impossible,right? It's Heiji we are talking about.
But if it's true, Why didn't he tell me? We shouldn't keep secrets to one another besides, we were bonded by a steel bond when we were young! What does he think of me?! That detective freak!
Yaaaaah! I think I'm going crazy!
"WE'RE HERE!"
It's already dark when we arrived. No street lamps were on but the moonlight is enough to somehow see ta whole place.
Even though all seems to be smaller than I thought, It's all so the same. This playground became a magical place for me since I met him.
(Flashback)
*sniff sniff* I-I should have l-listened to oyaji
(father) about not leaving in the lobby of the police statio--"
"ARGH! Don't make fun of him!"
"Move there you little - I'm not yet done with him!"
I stood there frozen while I watch a couple of boys in my age fight. I was about to step out and defend the dark skinned boy who was standing for the other boy that was crying at the back.
"I said, go away fat boy! Move a step closer to us and I'll bring you to the police and file a case against you."
"Ahhhhh!!! " Ta group of boys fled away sob- bing as they ran to their houses. I immediately went to ta crying boy and comforted him.
"Stop crying. They're gone now. Shh." The crying boy looked up to me. His face filled With tears blushed and ran away.
"Look what you have done. You scared him! Hahaha" Ta dark skinned boy teased me.
Argh! The nerve! I composed myself turned to him and punched him.
"If there is a scary person here that is you! Dark skinned boy!" Ta boy clearly annoyed with what I said, "Why did you do-- Wait" his words stopped midair when he suddenly realized something.
"Are you lost?"
"H-HoW did ya know?"
"There are tear stains on your cheek indicat-ing that you just cried. And considering your age, we should have someone watching over us while we play here in park. But obviously, We are the only ones left here,no adults around. So I assume my theory is correct. "
I stood there amazed.
"WoW! It's true I'm lost but I don't see an adult with you too, are you lost as Well?" I smiled at him grateful that he didn't choose ta leave me here.
Heiji 's POV
"WoW! It's true I'm lost but I don't see an adult With you too, are you lost as well?" I watched in awe as she smiled at me. She's beautiful when she smiles.
"U-Umm, kinda. Where is your parents?"
I can't tell her that I saw her crying on a bench of the playground in front of the police station so I left my father to follow this girl. >///<
"Oyaji works at the police station. He told me to wait but I saw a beautiful butterfly and followed it. Now I don't know where am I."
"Aho! Well, I can take you to ta police station. It's just right in front of this park. Are you blind or somethin?" But before she protests,
I pulled her by her hand and brought her to the lobby. "There ya go. Next time don't run off to somewhere because not all the time, I'll be there to find you. Aho! "
*tok tok tok tok tok tok tok*
We were startled when we heard series of loud footsteps coming near us. I instinctively put ta girl behind me and waited for the owner of the footsteps.
"But she is not here-- There you are, Kazuha, my daughter! I'm so worried when I saw this lobby empty. Are you okay?"
"Mmm! This boy took me here." The girl held my arm as if to show me to her father. Just then, her father scanned me with his eyes when it lit up in recognition. "Oh! As expected at Inspector Hattori Heizo's son. What's your name?"
"Hattori Heiji."
